Krewe of Barkus

  • Historic Downtown McKinney 111 N Tennessee St McKinney, TX, 75069 United States (map)

This McKinney Mainstreet event is patterned after the legendary Mystic Krewe of Barkus in New Orleans, which was established to help abused and abandoned canines.

Krewe of Barkus features hundreds of dogs parading the historic downtown streets, a costume contest, and other small town festivities.

2019 Theme is ""The Bark-A-Palooza Tour Around the World - Celebrating Countries & Cultures Across the Globe"  The theme for 2019 will be centered around a genre of television that has infiltrated our culture and become wildly popular.  If you are old enough to remember Candid Camera and What’s My Line, or if you are a fan of Survivor, Jersey Shore, Fear Factor, American Idol, Top Chef or The Bachelor/Bachelorette – you are in luck!  On March 3, Canines are Keeping it Real – A Barkus Salute to Reality TV
